Believe it or not, sometimes you have to look back a few decades to your childhood for a little fashion inspiration. This outfit has me feeling that 90’s Joey Lawrence meets Nirvana, meets “Sister, Sister” grunge vibe. Although I was too young to actually have worn the styles made famous by the pop culture stars ( my mom was still dressing me) ,my patchwork jeans and plaid layers have me nostalgic for the 1990s!
You won’t find a lot of plaid in my wardrobe ( my style is a little less country, and a little more rock ‘n’ roll) but I can’t get enough of this punky patterned dress. When I find a piece I love, I have to think outside the box to make it transition from season to season. My creativity kicked in for winter by layering the shirt dress open over a basic long sleeve tee and my distressed patch jeans from Anthropologie. The best part about it? I get to reinvent the look again by wearing it as a dress in the Spring… WHOA!
