This past weekend my best friend Christina and I traversed down I-95 through torrential downpours to Washington, DC to reunite with our other beautiful bestie Colleen. We had a great time running around the Capital City and catching up with Col’s friends who we haven’t seen in awhile ( including stylish Andy, pictured above, who was rocking a printed sweatshirt and a pop of color on his socks… love!) The day started at the cherry blossoms near the Tidal Basin ,which were disappointing since we missed the peak blooming time. However, we ran into a beautiful garden of colorful tulips. The day was pretty bleak and cloudy but these tulips lit up the day! Next we walked all the way to Georgetown and enjoyed lunch on the waterfront and some shopping. It was a little bit of a walk from the tidal basin but I got my exercise in for the day …maybe even the week.
Since we were exploring all day, I kept it comfortable in my Chuck Taylors. The weather for the weekend was so hot and cold (and rainy). We practically experienced three seasons in three days! Not being sure how to dress, I decided to be casual and layer up. And of course I had to be hands free to run around and take in all the sights, so I chose this Steve Madden backpack to keep it easy. Despite the crazy weather, our adventure in DC was a blast!
