Today’s post blends many of my favorite trends of the moment: off the shoulder, bandanas, and Converse sneakers.  This Spring I have been wearing the sneaker trend over and over again. I love the juxtaposition between dresses or skirts with sneakers.  The contrast in styles really makes a look interesting. Not to mention that this outfit is super comfortable.  Style AND Comfort? What more could you want from outfit?

Let’s talk about how you too can master the sneakers + dress combo:

  1.  Pick a pair of sneakers with a little extra style or pzazz. When I say sneakers can be worn with dresses, I am not referring to your actual running sneakers. We are talking Converse, funky  high top Nikes, colorful New Balance, or some sleek skater shoes.  They can have an athletic feel but should have some stylish details.

  2.  If you are nervous about trying this trend for the first time, go for a monochromatic look. Pair a white pencil skirt and blouse with a pair of sleek white sneakers or rock an all black ensemble with croc embossed skater sneakers. You can’t go wrong with monochrome.
  3.  Go for a metallic style! Metallics make anything look a litter dressier so it will be easier to not feel so out of place when wearing a dress and sneakers.  puma
  4.  Just have fun with it! As always I encourage you to have fun with your style. Play with prints and colors and experiment with different looks. If it feels right and your confident in your look then rock it out!
